Intel® Common Connectivity Framework (CCF) by Intel Corporation is a background middleware and service layer that unifies how Windows PCs with Intel wireless hardware discover, connect to, and manage networks. Used by Intel connection utilities and OEM software, it provides consistent, reliable control over multiple connectivity technologies while minimizing user intervention.

Key capabilities:

  • Provides a common foundation for managing Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile broadband (WWAN) adapters on systems with Intel wireless components
  • Handles connection profiles, authentication, and security policies in a centralized way
  • Supports roaming, handoff logic, and power/performance optimization to improve stability and battery life
  • Exposes APIs used by Intel PROSet/Wireless software and OEM utilities to deliver advanced connection features
  • Runs as background services; typically preinstalled by PC manufacturers and updated with Intel driver packages
  • Helps ensure feature compatibility and a consistent user experience across Intel wireless solutions

End users generally do not interact with CCF directly; removing it may disable features in Intel connection tools or OEM applications that depend on it.

Intel® Common Connectivity Framework is developed by Intel Corporation. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.0.
